Medical ozone is currently mixed with oxygen itself to treat a wide spectrum of pathologies. It’s also used for anti-aging therapy thanks to an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, regenerative action with both local (eg paravertebral and intra-articular) and systemic (GAET) administration routes. It has no drug interactions, and no side effects.

Its action is expressed at the level of all organs thanks to its “systemic” modality, or in herniated discs and joints to name a few of its most used local applications.

Ozone Therapy can counteract chronic degenerative diseases by reactivating microcirculation in all tissues and organs through the increased supply and better use of oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood. At the level of the whole body, it optimizes cellular metabolism and the processes of toxin elimination produced by cells. It stimulates an induction of the response against free radicals responsible for aging thanks to the activation of the endogenous defensive enzymatic functions of the cells, obtained through an increase in the transcription of antioxidant enzymes at the DNA level.

Oxygen-ozone therapy generates excellent results in pain therapy for diseases of the osteo-articular and musculoskeletal system such as osteoarthritis of the spine, herniated disc, knee and shoulder osteoarthritis, periarthritis humeral scapula and muscle contractures.

What is the mechanism of action of ozone in the body? It’s based on “bio-oxidative preconditioning”, which is the biological response of adaptation and enhancement resulting from the administration of a transient oxidative stress that can be neutralized by the body’s defenses. It follows the stimulus given by this molecule and produces a series of physiological mediators that reach all your body’s cells – progressively developing an improvement in various functions related to metabolism, inflammatory state, immune defense, release of oxygen and removal of toxins.

Oxygen-ozone therapy in its systemic mode (GAET) is part of the therapeutic tools of what is defined as Potential Medicine due to recognized anti-aging effects and the increased resistance to physical effort that it generates.

Some of the important clinical applications of oxygen-ozone therapy are:

  • PREVENTION AND ANTI-AGING Fighting damage from free radicals, improving sleep quality and hormonal balances, reducing psycho-physical stress and increasing resistance to physical effort
  • ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS MEDICINE Herniated disc – Lumbar and cervical pain – Lumbosciatalgia – Cervicalgia – Cervicobrachialgia – Arthrosis – Rheumatoid arthritis – Gonarthrosis – Osteoarthritis of the shoulder – Osteoarthritis of the hand – Trauma of the osteo-articular system – Epicondylitis and Epitrocleitis – Joint pain in the hand and foot – Tendinitis – Muscle contractures – Myofascial pain
  • INTERNAL MEDICINE Arteriosclerosis – Hepatopathies – Osteoporosis – Rheumatoid arthritis – Diabetes and its complications – Scleroderma – Pulmonary hypertension – Respiratory failure – Renal failure
  • VASCULAR DISEASES Venous insufficiency – Peripheral arteriopathy of the lower limbs
  • ANDROLOGY Erectile dysfunction
  • OCULISTICS Degenerative maculopathy of the retina (dry form)
  • NEUROLOGY Muscle-tension and vasomotor headache – Depression – Neurovascular disorders – Chronic fatigue syndrome – Multiple sclerosis
  • GERIATRY Senile dementia – Chronic inflammatory diseases – Chronic pain – Arteriosclerosis
  • AESTHETIC MEDICINE Cellulite (Edematous-Fibro-Sclerotic Panniculopathy)
