What is the Fraxel Laser?
The Fraxel Laser is an instrument that allows us to perform non-ablative fractional resurfacing. It’s an extremely safe, minimally invasive and very effective method for repairing and erasing the signs of aging and damage typical of photoaging (sun exposure) from the skin. It’s recommended for the treatment of facial wrinkles, acne scars, melasma, general scars and stretch marks. What is the Fraxel Laser used for?
The Fraxel Laser is recommended for:
- Face wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Melasma
- Scars
- Stretch marks
It can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté, hands and even other parts of the body.
How does the Fraxel Laser work?
The Fraxel Laser produces thousands of "holes" (micro-columns of MTZ thermal activity) without breaking the last layer of the skin. By doing so, this activity eliminates the old pigmented cells and penetrates deep into the dermis, hitting the affected areas in a fractional and intensive way while leaving the adjacent tissue intact. The treated skin is then able to heal much faster than traditional systems and eliminates the risk of visible scars. As a matter of fact, the "fractional" treatment favors the natural healing process, thanks to which skin with imperfections is replaced by new tissues.
What are the advantages of the Fraxel Laser compared to traditional laser equipment?
The Fraxel Laser is a high-quality and advanced technology tool that allows you to obtain the resurfacing benefits and results that are typical of traditional laser equipment, but without the convalescence, trauma, side effects and long recovery periods of the latter.
How long does a treatment last?
The treatment lasts a few minutes.
Is anesthetic cream necessary for the treatment?
Yes. An anesthetic cream is applied about 30 minutes prior to treatment.
How does the skin look after treatment?
You will have very red treated skin for a few hours and sometimes a very slight swelling. The next day you can wear makeup without any problems. You can immediately return to all work and/or sports activities.
What should I do after the Fraxel Laser session?
Immediately after the Fraxel Laser treatment, a cream must be applied which must be used for another 20 days after the session. It’s also important to use sunscreen for at least one month after the session.
How many treatments are necessary?
From 2 to 6, depending on the type of blemish you want to treat and its severity.
Which areas can be treated with the Fraxel Laser?
Both the face and body.
